Fall Fun! Pumpkins are ready!!!
1. Look at the pictures of Mrs. Rosenthal's visit to the pumpkin farm. How many different color pumpkins do you see? What size are pumpkins? Are pumpkins smooth or bumpy?
2. Listen to the story From Seed to Pumpkin. Notice the way the pumpkin looks while it is growing.
3. Use a black crayon to draw a pumpkin following the steps on the purple worksheet (see below).
4. Starting on the bottom left, write your name.
5. Put your paper in the pile and your black crayon in the container.
DO NOT COLOR in your pumpkin! We will be doing something very special next week!

Step 1: Start with two dots. One near the top of the paper and one near the bottom. Center the dots near the middle of the paper.
Step 2: Place your crayon on the top dot and draw a curved line to the bottom dot. It's is sorta like writing the letter C. Repeat on other side (a backwards C). Step 3: Place your crayon on the top dot again, and draw another curved line towards the bottom dot. Make it bigger and fatter! Repeat on other side. Step 4: Keep going until desired width of pumpkin is achieved. Then, draw a wobbly stem. |
